We would like to invite all young scientists to participate in the election for the Council of Young Researchers of the SAS (YRS) for the 2026 – 2028 term. We will be electing six new members. We therefore urge all members of the Slovak Academy of Sciences who have ideas on how to improve the activities organized by the Council to submit their candidacies to mladi-vedci@savba.sk by June 30, 2026.
All registered YRS members are eligible to run in the elections. So if you are not yet a registered YRS member, you must first register on our website.
All candidates must submit a short profile with brief information about themselves and their vision for the role in the Council (max 200 words) + a photo (as a separate attachment).
Short Summary Template:
Harry Potter (Ing., PhD.)
Institute of Wizardry/0. Section/29 years
I successfully completed the PhD. Studies at the Institute of Wizardry last year. Now I continue my research on kettle goulash and eternal life as a part of my postdoc project.
As a member of the Council of Young Researchers SAS I will try to increase the prestige of the Young Researchers and grow its membership. In my free time I like to play a quidditch and get on everyone’s nerves. This summary can have up to 200 words but this was a long week and I feel a little dumb. I believe that you will use the offered space more effectively.
